Printer Tips: How to Print Fourth of July Decorations

Not much is more American than celebrating the day that the Declaration of Independence was signed. Every Fourth of July, millions of Americans gather to celebrate their country gaining it’s freedom by throwing barbecues, lighting fireworks, and laughing amongst their closest family and friends. Time-honored traditions, such as Roman candles, are important – but that doesn’t mean you can’t get creative with celebrating the holiday! Your printer will come in handy for creating unique and eye-catching decorations for this Fourth of July, and we’ve got the best tips on how to print Fourth of July decorations!

Every backyard barbecue revolves around food, and we recommend starting your decor from the table up. Food labels, placards, or tent cards are a great way to create a more interesting table setting for your guests, and you can incorporate the stars and stripes in more ways than you ever thought possible as a design. We recommend using full advantage of your printer’s ability to process specialty paper for printing food placards, as it makes creating a professional-looking table setting easy. You can create beautiful placards using online templates or your own creative eye on your computer and run perforated tent cards through your printer as the paper, so that all you need to do is pop out and fold the individual cards for a gorgeous setting.

One of our favorite ways to jazz up our event decor is by creating adorable hanging banners. These work both inside and out of the home, and are easy as 1-2-3. There are a ton of online templates that you can use, or you can get creative by scanning in a pattern that you love for your banner. Print out the individual letters (we like ‘USA’ and ‘Happy 4th’ for some simple options) on sturdy paper, and involve the kids in the craft by letting them cut them out. With a few hole punches at the top and some red, white and blue ribbon holding the letters together, you’re ready to hang up your banners!

Every holiday should involve your family and friends, and that almost always involves children. Fireworks are best handled by adults (for obvious reasons), but there’s no reason that the kids can’t be involved. Our favorite way to involve the little ones while providing some added decor to your party is to print small American flags and have the kids cut out and glue them to popsicle sticks. Seeing the flags waving in the air during the fireworks show will be an Instagram-worthy moment you’re sure to cherish.

Whatever you decide to do for your Fourth of July decorations, remember that your home printer is able to help. With the wide variety of features that come with most modern printers, you can create gorgeous, lasting works of art for any holiday. We hope that you have a safe and happy Fourth of July!
